TLC is proud to bring together community activists, Elders, linguists, artists, tech specialists, designers, and grant writers to create a network of language warriors.
- Malak Malak
- The Language Conservancy and Malak Malak community, with support from the Northern Land Council, are developing several children’s picture books and a Vocab Builder app. The children’s picture books will be released in 2020.
- The Language Conservancy and the Wangka Maya Pilbara Aboriginal Language Centre are collaborating on a Vocab Builder app for the Ngarluma language. This app is an important, high-quality teaching material which can be used in schools and at home.
TLC is governed by a five-member Board of eminent Indigenous language specialists, both native speakers and linguists. The Board of Directors is responsible for the overall direction and decision-making of the organisation. Directors are elected for two-year terms from candidates nominated from within the Board. All of our board members volunteer their time to prevent further language loss.
